There are many people who have only heard about the Book of Life through ministers and others who mention that their name is written in it. However, most of these individuals have not delved into what the Book of Life truly signifies. As someone who is a lifelong student of the Word of GOD, it is crucial for me to grasp as much of the Word as possible. My heart earnestly desires for individuals to recognize the significance of studying it for themselves.
There are eight (8) scriptures in the bible that speak about the Book Of Life, with seven (7) scriptures found in Revelation. The book (bíblos, bib’-los; properly, the inner bark of the papyrus plant) of life (lifetime) was first mentioned in Philippians when Paul reached out to other male leaders to help the women leaders whose names were written in the book of life. Paul made this heartfelt statement because the women were synergós, soon-er-gos’; co-laborers, companions in labor, fellow-helpers, laborers together with him. This underlined the fact that their work for GOD was just as important as the work he himself was doing.
This is important to know because it was the work that the women were doing for GOD placed their names in the book of life.
Let’s check out the 7 verses in Revelation
3:5 – He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
When you conquer your weights, sins, and demons, your name will not be removed from the book of life. (Put in the effort to become an overcomer)
13:8 – And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
17:8 – The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
All who worship the sea dragon (the Devil) while on earth, may I encourage you to consider worshipping GOD so that your name can be written in the book of life through your actions, as opposed to evil works that align with the synagogue of Satan.
20:12 – And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
Note that once again, this scripture identifies that according to your works that was listed in the book of life, is how the dead was judged.
20:15 – And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Because of the work that we do, our names will be determined whether they are in the book of life or not. For those whose names are not in the book of life, there will be the possibility of being cast into the lake of fire.
21:7 – And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abominaiton, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
No works against GOD nor ANYTHING that we do that defiles, your name will not be in the book of life.
22:19 – And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
Lastly 22:19 states that if anyone works at removing the words of the prophetic book, Revelations, GOD shall take away his measure, his works out of the book.
I pray that we can truly grasp the significance of our actions/works on earth and understand how crucial the things we do can ultimately shape the course of our lives.
Here are some key aspects of the Book of Life:
- Eternal Record: It contains the names of all people who have ever lived, even those that were aborted.
- Salvation: The Book of Life is often associated with salvation. Those whose names are written in the Book of Life are destined for eternal life with GOD in eternity.
- Judgment: The Book of Life is also mentioned in the context of the Last Judgment, when God will judge all people based on their works.
The Book of Life serves as a powerful reminder of GOD’s sovereignty, justice, and eternal plan for humanity.
